Thoughts on when to “Deck the Halls”…

I was determined no matter what to wait until AFTER Halloween to decorate the store. I am told all the major cities have decorated for Christmas already, ornaments, music, even Santa is walking around. Let’s breath a little bit and celebrate each holiday as it should be. Thanksgiving is coming up, my favorite holiday. For over twenty years we have celebrated Thanksgiving at our house. This year we are going to my daughter’s house. New location but same fabulous experience with everyone adding their touch to the meal. We have gone from 12 to a 43 person sit down dinner. I usually bake a turkey and everyone brings their specialty dish we have come to love so much. My brother, Andrew, makes the best yams with pecans dotted with marshmallows on the top. Kim makes the desserts, salad by Kim R, stuffing by Laura, everyone contributes. A toast is extended, we dine for hours and roll out the door for the ride home.

Table settings are near and dear to me, as you may know. Juliska’s Berry and Thread pattern is so classic and pretty, it goes with everything. For fun I have been using NESTcandles and giving everyone a little candle as a gift. I love the combo box, you can give out 12 different candles and the packaging is great. I’ll show you a picture of what I mean. As the holiday season approaches enjoy your day with your friends and family, I wish you joy, health and love and oh by the way I was born on Thanksgiving.  Lucky me!!!
