Spring has SPRUNG in our little town of Sun Valley

The grass at my house is turning green!!! The pond is flowing, the trees are have tiny little buds everywhere. What a relief, winter is over!!!

This summer is very exciting for me. Kim Seybert who owns one of the most beautiful TABLETOP companies will be coming to our store for a TRUNKSHOW in early August. I can’t wait, not only will she be bring more summer ideas, she will also bringing new fall tabletop. I don’t  want to get ahead of myself, I only want to think of summer, dinner in the patio, birthday parties for friends, romantic dinners and dancing in our fruit orchard………

Some of my very favorite pieces from Kim Seybert are her outdoor melamine products, napkins and napkin rings. How can it be that three weeks have slipped through my fingers since the last blog?

I’m told as one gets older a “quickening” of time begins. I do believe that. On my last blink it was mid January and my beautiful grandson had been born. The summer season that I love so much in Sun Valley has passed. The leaves are changing so fast, what was green yesterday is red today and my grandson is now 8 1/2 months old. In the house I have NEST candles burning and a small fire going. I just received an order from Laura Zindel in from the store. She is a naturalist illustrator and has recreated her drawings of insects, birds, frogs and butterflies into unique housewares. These fine ceramics, dinnerware, and gift items are made in her studio just outside of Guilford, Vermont. My favorites are the Bird Mugs and Ant Platter. They’re interesting conversation pieces and perfect for any season especially for our holiday tables.

I love anything that is well designed. Alfi carafe’s are the epitome of perfect design and quality. My favorite… the Achat. They are heavenly, some for outdoors some for your favorite room in your house. I don’t know how they come up with such fabulous ideas, but they do season after season. I particularly love the Dransfield and Ross Bluestone Collection, if you can imagine yourself on a ivory couch or bed with these pillows, or a grey blue couch… the look would be fantastic. Those who love to entertain will love Kim Seybert’s 2012 Spring Collection. Her refined fashion sensibility and a love of rich color and texture is evident in this new collection. This supremely stylish collection for modern living will bring a smile to everyone at your table. These designers really have it all. What I love about them most of all is they are always working on their craft to make it better and better. Introducing something new and yet really sticking to what they do best.

Dinner at the Murphy’s!!!!

It’s not summer quite yet but any time is a good time for Mexican Food!!! Tonight I used almost everything from the store. I made corn bread in my Calaisio oval baker, I used the Calaisio beaded place mats and coasters. My napkins were from Daisy Hill, napkin rings from Dransfield and Ross. Margarita glasses from Mariposa. And the best dessert was in this crazy new piece I just got in the store, some of you have seen it already. A large martini glass, really you could put 20 martinis in, but put ice cream, lady fingers, chocolate topping and marshmallow fluff in it. I know some of you are saying, marshmallow fluff I know you are thinking marshmallow fluff???!!! But it is good good good!   It certainly was a Bellissimo styled night. My husband Mike even turned to me and said, “Is EVERTHING here new??!!” With a straight face I told him, “I have to try everything out before I sell it to make sure it looks just right.” Isn’t that right???? Luckly he knew not to answer.

Juliska Country Estate….

Juliska just came out with their fabulous new dish ware, and it is one of those “just gotta haves” This pattern was created years ago by Isis, all hand painted, and gorgeous but but very expensive.  Just last year Juliska did a collaboration with Isis artist and creator and came out with this very affordable and very beautiful black and white tabletop.
