Terry: What is your motto?
Geoffrey:  “Unparalleled glamour is not for the squeamish”.

Terry: What do you most value in your friends?
Geoffrey:  A generosity of kindness.

Terry: What is your favorite characteristic in yourself?
Geoffrey:  A sense of adventure.

Terry: What natural gift would you like most to possess?
Geoffrey: I’m a klutz what can I say…

Terry: What would be your most indulgent day?
Geoffrey:
Fall sales at Christies, with a blank check that won’t bounce.

Terry: What is your most precious to your heart cause?
Geoffrey: We are founding board members of a charity called “Earthly Delights”.  We raise funds for New Jersey’s under funded public gardens.  I’m a big believer in how natural beauty brings out the best in civilization.

Terry: If your life was a title of a song, what would it be?
Geoffrey:
Well, I’m a big Sondheim fan so it would have to be “I Never Do Anything Twice”

Terry: What place do you go to when you need to settle your mind?
Geoffrey: My garden to work up a sweat.

Terry: Seen anything weird lately?
Geoffrey: We just saw Robert Wilson’s opera “Zinnia”.  Weirdness is a close relation to rare beauty, you eye just has to get use to it.

Terry: Do you believe in love at first sight AND
do you believe in it happening over and over again?
Geoffrey: Lust at first sight, yes, love at first sight, no.

Terry: What inspires you?
Geoffrey:
This relates back to weirdness.  I often find beauty and inspiration in strangeness.  The french had a term for it jolie laide.  It means a beautiful ugly person but I use it across the board.  Look at someone like Diana Vreeland.  She was both ugly and beautiful.  That’s inspired.

The Next Big Thing… Ubanears Headphones…by Vickey

medisLeave it to Terry to find the “next big thing”. Urbanears… I couldn’t resist getting a pair for myself. The color choices are really great and they fit. EarClick construction is a patent that ingeniously secures the earphone into position in your ear. The EarClick construction makes use of the bottom of the ear, much like the standard construction, and adds an upward hook securing the earpiece. The Medis comes with four separate, silicone size pads. Try out for a perfect fit. The Medis features a dynamic sound and the sleek and minimal design. I got coral.

One of my favorite people… Belle L. Zwerdling

Belle L. Zwerdling photo

Belle L. Zwerdling has been a talent agent for more than twenty-three years, representing actors working in film, television, and theater.  As a co-owner of the boutique Progressive Artists Agency, she is responsible for negotiating client’s deals, maintaining their status, selecting their projects, and working with other management team members to create successful career paths.  Her firm is highly selective – both of the clients that they represent and the projects that they are involved with.

Having started in the business as an actress herself, Ms. Zwerdling’s focus is on maintaining the integrity of the creative process with her clients, who she views as her partners.  Her efforts have resulted in clients becoming internationally-recognized stars.  Her agency has also nurtured many clients as they have expanded their creative efforts beyond acting to writing, producing, and directing.

Belle L. Zwerdling is available to lecture on various topics related to the talent agent business, client/agent relations, and the creative process.  She has expertise in areas ranging from securing and working with an agent to removing blocks to and dealing with success.

Ms Zwerdling recognized the need to impart her wisdom on these issues based on her experience of working with young actors whose ideas about success do not incorporate the realities and practicalities of the industry.  Her goal is to teach artist how to allow the business side of the arts to complement their craft, not be an obstacle to it.
